Boracay Island Normal water Company, Inc. (BIWC), brand name as Boracay Drinking water, is the jv company of Manila Normal water Company through its subsidiary Manila Normal water Philippine Projects (MWPV) and the Philippine Travel and leisure Authority (now Travel and leisure Infrastructure and Organization Zone Specialist) that gives potable normal water service, sewerage service, and finally, drainage management under a 25-calendar year Concession Arrangement to provide the roughly 1,000,000 holiday and 30,000 local residents of Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, Philippines.
Boracay Normal water was contained on Dec 7, 2009, and commenced its functions previous January 1, 2010. It services the complete Island of Boracay governed by three barangays specifically Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak, like the commercial districts popularly known as Channels 1, 2 and 3.
Boracay Normal water was awarded the exclusive to operate, control, and expand normal water and used drinking water facilities for an interval of 25 years, renewable for another 25 years. The business was also awarded the to operate and keep maintaining the prevailing drainage system after its conclusion. It assumed businesses on January 1, 2010 and commenced rehabilitating the island’s drinking water and used drinking water infrastructure, to donate to a lasting environment and the economical development of the island.
It can help in keeping the island’s pristine shorelines with the treatment of the Balabag Sewage Treatment Vegetable, a center that has constantly complied with the strict pollution control variables of the Division of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) digesting 6.5 million liters of used drinking water each day. Used normal water service coverage is geared to be brought up by 75 percent by 2016.
